Life Blown Open

The band has grown and developed over the last 8 years, expanding their boarders with every album. With the release of their new album "My Mind Like The World", the group aims to gain more listeners through festivals, campus radio stations, and online promotions. The band has had many successes but has yet to break through the clutter of bands coming from the overwhelming Toronto scene.

“My Mind Like The World” will open your ears to high energies, new sounds, and soaring and intricate melodies. This is a sound that straddles the divide between hook-driven rock with post-rock meanderings filtered through heart-on-sleeve harmonies. Hard-charging energy intertwined with splashes of melody.

In 2011, the band won D.C Music’s “Last Band Standing” competition in Toronto which involved close to 60 Toronto bands, playing to win $15,000 in prizes. Prizes include a Canadian tour, music video, and more. Life Blown Open also came second in the Metal Works demo competition and made the semi-finals of the Street Idol competition, both at Canadian Music Week.

Life Blown Open's songs are original and powerful. It's high energy, dynamic, and brings you on a sort of musical rollercoaster. Fans always have fun and are entertained from start to finish, as the music starts ambient and subtle, and develops in to hard, dramatic, rhythmical bursts.
