"LGOWM"

Here it is, on a silver platter, local metal at its best! Well I actually got it in a brown mailing envelope (not quite a silver platter), but you get the point. Life Goes On Without Me are a fairly new Canadian Metal band who reside in the bustling city of Toronto. Having formed as recently as March of 2004, it is rather impressive how this unsigned band has managed to hone their skills in such little time.

Now I love homegrown talent, and I think the band is talented, I just don’t like the production on the album. Ultimately, this probably has more to do with budget constraints than anything else, but I had to point it out either way. Nevertheless, that does not take away from the band as a whole, and what they are trying to convey with this release.

The guitar riffs are pretty tight, the vocals are rowdy, and rough, and hardly understandable, clearly a moshing Metal CD. Twirl that hair! Metal is back! I have to say that although still very early on in their career, these guys have a good chance to go far as long as they keep up the practicing and touring.

As they play more and more they will only become a tighter group and gain a larger fan following (local or not). As it stands, despite their short existence LGOWM have already managed to play countless local shows and took part in both a South American tour and the most recent Milwaukee Metalfest.

The band has only been together for a few short years, but their dynamic is just awesome, and the chemistry between them is clearly evident. Go check these dudes out at www.myspace.com/lifegoesonwithoutme. I hear double bass pedals and that makes me happy. Happy enough to give this homemade CD a whopping 7/10. - Puregrainaudio.com

Bio

"Earth to Earth, Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust..."
We are the planet's waste as human beings permanently take for granted, everything they have. We are but a small chapter in history that is part of a much greater plan. No matter what, no matter when and no matter why, the one common bond is this:
Life Goes On Without Me.
For the heavy metal collective ripping out of Toronto, Canada, "Life..." has been going on since March of 2004 and the musical chemistry was instantly overwhelming as these dark minds illuminated a common purpose.

For a genre that takes turns rising in the spotlight, metal has not left us. Metal lives on by the bands that never surrendered to the dreams of fame
and fortune - the strongest wills and the thickest blood have prevailed to keep the scene heavy in the face of conformity. These men wears their devotion to heavy metal like a badge of honour in a
world of separated tastes that has allowed for the fusion of several types of metal to create this bone-crushing power house of hybrid deathcore.

Labels aside, what matters most to LGOWM are the pulsating rhythms, thrashing guitars, driving bass lines and unworldly vocals that rip through hearts with an aggressive intensity that leaves blood on the walls. This is music that is made to "kick people in the face". The intoxicating energy emitted by the band has resulted in a cult like following that is growing at a rapid rate and with a 3-song demo (2005), independently released full length album
"Beyond Salvation" (2006), countless local shows and both a South American Tour and Milwaukee Metalfest (2007) under their belt, it's impossible to fight the fact that the sonic killing spree will continue and "LifeGoesOnWithoutMe"'s notoriety will leave a gash in the world of heavy metal.
