Light Chemist is a unique band on a not so unique scene. They present driving, straight ahead rock mixed with choruses so catchy you will find hooks after just one listening. Parker Stevenson, their charismatic singer/guitarist, sums up the meaning of their name; "The name Light Chemist represents the high energy music we create." If you get into the diverse songs they have written, you can pull different influences from the four songs on their Myspace page, as they are all seemingly written by four different bands. "When I was growing up, I listened to the Beatles for three years of my life and I incorporated Bob Marley and recently Maynard from Tool," related Parker, giving hints as to why their sound is so atypical. Colin Lyon, their enigmatic guitar player, interjected that "My influences range from David Gilmore of Pink Floyd to Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme." Light Chemist is the rock band that we all need; they will be a known entity in the industry.
Sounds like: An Indy band with a major commercial sound that doesn't compromise their integrity. Hard to place these guys and that is not a bad thing.

Nobody knows much about the mysterious band Light Chemist, except that they are incredible and difficult to classify. The simplest explanation we could offer is that they are a hard rock band that incorporates elements of progressive, psychedelic, and a hint of punk into their diverse sounds. Great band to see live.

"Holy crap! I love the chords in the opening of this tune. And how the vocals come in are perfect. The drummer does a great job too. Holy crap this song is good. I can't believe how cool this tune is. I really hope your band has it's stuff together so you can get signed if you're not yet. The vocals are friggen perfect and the lyrics are really something too. The arrangement is awesome. I don't know how I'm supposed to give a useful review when there's nothing that I'd change about it."

What's every bands dream living situation? How about moving to Los Angeles, getting a house, and then building a professional soundproof recording studio in your backyard so you can record and rehearse at any time of night or day. Well, Light Chemist has done just that. They are currently writing their debut album which will be recorded in early 2008.
