With superstar DJs like Skrillex and Deadmau5 selling out arena tours and with more kids picking up turntables than are picking up guitars it seems that we really are in an era where everyone wants to be a DJ.

With our unique event thats exactly what your students will be able to do. They can learn the skills required from our resident DJs at our hands-on Be The DJ masterclass and then put them to use in front of their fellow students by spinning at our insane Light It Up dance party.

On one side our event is a unique and truly interactive experience designed to teach students about creative expression through the hugely popular medium of turntablism and DJ culture. On the other its a massive dance-party designed to drive footfall to your late night programming and most importantly to be fun! Educational, inspirational and a great night out for all.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE LIGHT IT UP DANCE PARTY AND WHAT IS THE BE THE DJ MASTERCLASS?
OK, so there are two elements to this tour, one is educational and the other is all about entertainment. On the education side we have our Be The DJ masterclass. We spend the first two hours of our campus visit working with your students, introducing them to the skills required to become a DJ and giving them real hands-on experience using our pro DJ rig. The two students who show the most natural ability then get to take center stage at our Light It Up dance party where they will actually get to spin a 20 minute DJ set in front of their fellow students using the skills acquired during our mastercalss. For the remaining 90 minutes or so our hugely talented DJs will finish of the event by using their vast experience to deliver a dance party that nobody will forget.

DO YOU SUPPLY ALL OF THE DJ EQUIPMENT?
Yes. One of our three resident DJs will arrive on campus with a pro DJ set-up including the very latest in technology. He will set it up classroom style and attendees will then enjoy a two-hour highly interactive masterclass.

AND WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS MASTERCLASS?
Students will be given an introduction the fundamentals of DJing taking in everything from musical programming, technical skills (scratching, beat-matching etc), a little bit of history and a whole lot of hands on fun.

TELL ME ABOUT HOW SOMEONE CAN BE THE DJ AT YOUR EVENT
At the end of the masterclass our DJ will select the two most promising students to join him on stage at the Light It Up Dance Party which will run for the last two hours of our event. They will get to play for 20 minutes each in front of their peers, spinning through the sound system from the front of the stage. For one night only, they can be the superstar DJ!

SO THE LIGHT IT UP DANCE PARTYWHATS SO SPECIAL?
Light It Up is an inspirational dance experience which blends sound, light and our residents skills as DJs to create an event like no other. Modelled on the warehouse raves of Europe the show offers schools the chance to build their own party using our unique bolt-on system. This allows schools to create an event specific to their budget.

Once a school has booked the basic show it can bolt-on extras to reflect its budget. These bolt-ons can be anything from a Vegas style light-show featuring LED Walls and lasers to much smaller parties lit up by our unique flashing wristbands (exclusive to us and as used on the recent Coldplay World Tour) and branded glow batons. So if youre event is a big budget 3000 capacity Spring Fling party, we can deliver a production that reflects the scale of this type of show. On the other hand, if youre just wanting a 100 capacity dance party during term we can supply budget-level bolt-ons which are minimal in terms of cost but HUGE in terms of wow factor

HOW WILL THIS WORK AS A NACA SHOWCASE?
Light It Up/Be The DJ is perfect for the late-night showcase slot. Everybody loves a dance party at NACA! We will bring our full DJ rig along with a selection of the bolt-on options available to the schools. That will be intelligent lighting, glow batons, wristbands, LED finger pointers, UV paints and various other options. During the day at CAMP marketplace we will offer students who stop by our booth the chance to win a DJ set by performing some basic tasks on our in-booth DJ rig. We will also promote this opportunity via our full-page NACA Handbook advertisement. Two of the students who we select from the marketplace will then join our resident DJs to spin a short (10 minute each set) during the showcase. Our residents will be on stage with them every step of the way keeping an eye on them while continuing to work up the crowd with their microphone work. As our resident DJs finish
