LIGHTS

LIGHTS, born Valerie Poxleitner, is a 24 year old Juno Award winning singer/songwriter from Ontario, Canada. She bagan playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 11. At the age of 15, she was at a modeling casting and while having her hair and makeup done, she began to sing; Everyone who heard her voice was mesmerized and she met her soon-to-be manager that very day. In 2005 she began writing for Sony/ATV Music Publishing. In 2008, her songs were played in several commercials for Old Navy, and from that she was able to start building her own brand. She first hit the Canadian charts in May 2008 with the single 'Drive My Soul'. In 2009, she won a Juno Award for New Artist of the Year and landed a spot on Warped Tour. She later released 'The Listening' in 2009 and as of October 2011, she's released 'Siberia,' a sophisticated, mature, and grittier offspring from her former "prettier" sounds.
