Like Rats From A Sinking Ship

Like Rats From a Sinking Ship, the nightmare from the North, came from nowhere and burst onto the Norwegian hardcore scene back in 2008 with their debut "SXY SXY GSW EP”. Despite of their short time together this Northern Norwegian trio have become one of the country’s most talked about underground bands and have tens of thousands of kilometers on the road both at home and abroad already under their belts. Analogue synthesizers, drums, guitar and laptop; there is nothing conventional with this band.

The band spent Autumn 2010 recording their forthcoming L.P. in the Athletic Sound studio in Halden, with NY based legendary producer Alex Newport (At The Drive-in, The Locust, Melvins, The Mars Volta, Two Gallants, Sepultura, 65daysofstatic, Death Cab For Cutie, System Of A Down) manning the controls.

In terms of song writing and aesthetics in general, the band push the envelope far further than any of their domestic peers, and shamelessly blend elements of electro, drone rock, melodic elements and a few old metal tricks into their sound. Furthermore, the band have a worth ethic many Norwegian bands lack.

Chipped teeth, broken bones, nosebleeds and a patchwork of bruises; Like Rats From A Sinking Ship is by far one of Norway's most insane live acts.
