Bio
Like Thread is a five-piece original pop/rock band. Like Thread formed in 2001 as a studio project with the band developing into a live act in 2011, debuting during Adelaide Fringe at Arcade Lane.
Members' Backgrounds:
Melody – started her music career in 1996 with hip hop act FMN8, Melody has progressed through many musical forms including pop, chill out and the many facets of dance. Upon meeting Anthony Hicks in 2000, they have written and produced together in many styles, their tracks have been heard and performances seen by audiences around Australia. Melody found her niche style in rock with her current band Like Thread.
Anthony - began his music career in a uni rock band, he since has had many successes as a songwriter and producer, including co-writing Vanessa Amorosi's smash hit Absolutely Everybody. The friendship and songwriting with Melody started with dance music and now has led back to rock music as songwriter and keyboardist with the band Like Thread.
Jason - started of teaching himself guitar at 13, and by the age of 17 started his first band Unevolved, writing as well as playing. Later he wrote and played with Armadillo and v404. During in two-year stint overseas he had the opportunity to record in London. Upon his return, Jason met Anthony and Melody and gave them a taste of rock, leading to the formation of the nucleus of Like Thread.
Cory - first began trading guitar licks with Jason in his teens. He has played lead guitar with the pub cover band Stone Crows and the original metal act Tortured Realm. He first picked up a bass in an original rock outfit, Kangaroo Court and now brings the bottom end to Like Thread. Cory has also co-written and produced two albums for the rap group 7.62.
Mark - is Like Thread's drummer and newest member. Whilst this is Mark's first band, he's shown incredible talent and dedication and has proven to be a valuable addition to the band.
