Lil Dipski

Hi, we’re Andy Threm, Mike Threm, and Jonathan Crase better known as Lil Dipski. Jonathan is seventeen and Mike and I are sixteen. All three of us are from Colerain Township in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mike and I are twins and Jonathan lives a couple houses up from us. For my brother Mike and I, music has always been a common point between us and has been something that we both love and can relate to. Back when Mike and I were about 8 years old we spent much of our time listening to Skrillex, Daft Punk, and Deadmau5.

Our love of rap did not fully develop until my brother decided to listen to and then show me, Sit Down by Kevin Gates, a song and genre I fell in love with. I understood next to nothing about what was going on but just through the aggressive and grinding feel it gave off, something clicked. I started getting into more mainstream artists like Lil Yachty, Young Thug, Eminem, and Lil Wayne throughout grade school. Towards the end of eighth grade, we started to really get into music and developing a greater sense of what good and bad rap was. We started consuming much more rap and taking in as much as was possible. We also stayed up to date on all of the rap beefs that were going on. This new way to connect with the rappers strengthened our connection with the rap industry. Eventually, we started playing more melodic artists like Post Malone, Lil Uzi Vert, Fetty Wap, XXXTentacion and some Jon Bellion.

Since we finished grade school my brother and I have felt like it was destiny that we start making our own music. Music has always been an important aspect of our family life. My dad and his friends were rock stars all through high school with their band “Under the Sun” and my brother took piano lessons for years. My dad always wanted me to play the guitar or bass when I was younger but I always got too frustrated and stopped. Luckily this frustration has yet to rear its head with this new endeavor.

Our taste in music started to change and we thought about starting to create our own music in late 2017 throughout early 2018. My brother and I started to listen to artists like Lil Peep, Juice Wrld, and Joji. Our current style is a mishmash of all the styles of the artists that my brother and I have enjoyed listening to throughout the years. There are elements of more of the depressing sides with more ambient vibes, and there are also songs where the more ignorant side of music shows up. I edit all of the vocals and distribute all of our songs and most of the songs are produced by us as well.

Our inspiration to keep going through the good and the bad is definitely our dad. He’s been through what we are doing and we always watch clips of huge artists who gave concerts just a year ago where nobody knew who they were. We just had a few shows and the crowd and our fans love us. I see Lil Dipski on a world tour recording collabs with all of today’s big names and our favorite artists.
