Heart Machine is a stunning album. It holds a dark industrial atmosphere that encompasses everything shown on the front cover. Somewhere between a raw hard dark edge and a sweet empathetic heart of a hippy, lives the soul and sound of Lila Rose.
Armed with a distinctive voice and a compassionate understanding of the world around her, the Canadian born, California based singer/songwriter/producer writes songs whose sweeping musical vision and aesthetic beauty is matched only by the depth of her poetry. Her album, Heart Machine, co-produced with David Earl is a masterpiece of sound, song, craft and technology, bending the genres of electronica, indie pop, and indie rock. Her music has been compared to a merging of sounds including Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, and Fionna Apple, and has been coined as "cinematic indie-pop" .
A multi-media creatrice, Lila incorporates not only musical inspiration, but also visual stimulation by integrating performance theatre, projection, and often times dance and live painting into her performance.
Lila is back in the studio working on her new album to be released early 2014, with several singles and videos to be released in the coming months.
