Lilia is a singer songwriter that blends elements of hip hop, down tempo, and chilled out electronica curled around folk to meet in a beautiful collage of hypnotic sounds and rythms.
Part time beat producer, and full time genre bender, Lilia’s love for poetry, melody and electronic sounds, combines with a deep commitment and drive that work tirelessly together to continue bringing her sonic ideas to life.
She has enjoyed relative success in the Middle East, where one of her songs was featured on a Chill Out compilation re-named “Lounge Sessions” released through BMG Arabia, early last year. In Dubai, her music was described as a “catchy blend of thoughtful, provocative pop morsels, influenced by jazz, folk, r&b and world beats.” (Friday Weekend: Gulf News – Novemeber 2003).
After the album’s release Lilia collaborated with various established Arabic artists on bi-lingual projects and had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected producers in the Middle East.
Lilia has recently moved to North America to pursue a career as a songwriter, and performer. She is currently performing at numerous coffee houses and open mic nights across New York and Toronto, and is collaborating with producers and musicians on songs for her debut EP, exploring fresh new lyrical and sonic territories.
