Bio

William (Lil Scooty) King was born January 1, 1987 on the far eastside of Indianapolis, Indiana. He developed his
nickname "Lil Scooty" when he was born and currently uses it as his stage name today. Lil Scootys’ rapping style is
A "Midwest country swagger" with an original approach.

Lil Scooty was born on the eastside of Indianapolis, IN. He was raised there and claims 42nd and Post Road.
Scooty began his career rapping at 11 years of age; and raps both individually and jointly with his group
"MRC"(Meat Roll Clique), including artists Spark, Kano, and Indiana Tone, each of whom also have solo careers. When
recording his songs, he prefers to use Pro-Tools and has a studio in his residence. He released his first “No Coast” mixtape,
“Mixtape Money Vol. 1;” (20K sold!) in early 2008, but with no clear cut single, he went right back to work on the follow-
up “Mixtape Money Vol. 2.” This was very much a success locally, with songs “Brown Loui Bag” and “Friends with Benefits”
becoming hits in the streets, clubs, and local radio. In 6 short months, Scooty raised from local prominence to opening for
national acts, (Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo (D4L), Yo Gotti, Bo Hagan (of Lil John’s Eastside Boys) and headlining his own
shows. Mixtape Money 2 has sold more than 30,000 units from his shows, and traveling Indiana. He believes in promoting
on his own around Indianapolis, and Indiana in general. Scooty also uses the Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and the “Ning”
network to promote his music as well. (Myspace 60K+ views, 100K plays to date.) Scooty participated in the Showtime
Arnett talent Show in February, 2008 held in Indianapolis. He also traveled to attend “The Core DJ’s Retreat” in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina and returned home to be a part of the “Midwest Music Convention” held in Indianapolis all in the
past year. He has been featured in several magazines. Often compared to the likes of T.I. and Lupe Fiasco, Scooty has
developed into someone with national potential. When not going to College, Scooty is constantly working and intends to
assist in putting Indiana on the hip-hop map. He believes in working with other talented artists around the city of
Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, and beyond.
