"Taking a magnificent voyage today with the title “Swim” from the Australians of Lilt."

Taking a magnificent voyage today with the title “Swim” from the Australians of Lilt.

With a production like this you’d assume its from across the channel, but we’re mistakenly incorrect. The garage and lo-fi influences are blatant, and where its originality is most obvious is amongst the tracks additional vocals. The voice of Louise Penman plunges us into a world of melancholy and etherealness.

We listen in peace. - Delicieuse Musique

"Salacious Sound - Lilt - Can't Hear/Swim wintersleep rework"

Review 1: Winter Sleep Rework

Australian group, Lilt, just released one of my favourite tracks off of their recent Swim EP as a free download. I love this track for stirring up so many emotions and progressing in the most beautiful way possible. With a vocalist like their’s, you really can’t go wrong.

Review 2: Can't Hear

Can’t Hear is my favourite track off Australian group Lilt’s latest EP, Swim. The composition is absolutely gorgeous, and it somehow manages to simultaneously be bright, ominous, and sultry without sounding confused. This one really gives me shivers. - Salacious Sound

"Newness"

Lilt are a West Australian three-piece who make some left-of-centre electronica which can delve into anything from dubstep to drum'n'bass to slow house and ambience. Their newest single, Take, lies somewhere in the midst of it all, and it's some beautiful. You can download it for free on Soundcloud, and I recommend keeping an eye on their FACEBOOK. They also back it up with a dope live show. - Pilerats Magazine

"EP of the Week (taken from Drum Magazine 2.11.2012)"

The austere electronica peddled by Perth trio Lilt is nothing new - it's mostly comprised of a lot of space amongst rising synth notes, and over the top of it all, the fine vocals of Louise Penman. It's the kind of music that, at its best, is utterly compelling, but at its worst is half baked and lacking conviction. This band can happily lay claim to falling in the former, though, thanks mostly to Penmans beautiful voice and the skilled production of Matt Mclean. The title track is the strongest here, but on the whole it's excellent throughout. - Drum Media

"A Fresh Take from Lilt"

Dreamy Perth electronic act, Lilt, have released their new single, Take, on Soundcloud. A melancholy, minimalist piece, Take continues the good work found on their debut EP, Swim, which garnered enthusiastic reviews and saw the trio sharing the stage with the likes of Mitzi, Flume and Snakadaktal. - Xpress Mag

Bio

"If you dig Flight Facilities new track (Clair de Lune) then I think you're going to love this, it's Lilt, Can't Hear" - triple j's Dom Alessio, Home and Hosed 29/10/12

Fronted by songtress Louise Penman, Lilt feature pure, biting vocals and powerful, intimate melodies and Matt Mclean's textural synthetic production at their electronic soul. The pair work in tandem to create moments of vocal fragility and dense clouds of synths collide with system shaking subs, bass growls, and menacing drums.

Their debut EP 'Swim' (released Sept 2012) exceeded all expectations and gathered rave reviews and accolades, including RTRFM as the Local Feature and heavy rotation, WAM Song of the Year nominations, as well as Drum Media's EP of the Week. Lilt also received Triple J airplay for 'Can't Hear' and 'Winter Sleep Rework' on several programs, including Lunch with Lewi Mckirdy, Sound Lab with Fenella, and featured on the mecca of new Australian music, 'Home and Hosed' with Dom Alessio - a true testament to the diversity, accessiblity and depth of their sound.

Their new single 'Take' released 30/9/2013 debuted on Triple J and has been blogged by numerous high profile blogs across Australia and internationally, and featured on '2013', Richard Kingsmill (MD of JJJ)'s new music programme.

With a brand new seamless live show including a drummer, the next batch of Lilt material is decidedly more dance floor, with elements of UK garage and drum and bass in the mix, whilst retaining their trademark creative, forward thinking textures, compelling arrangements, and engaging, crystalline vocals.
