Bio
Originally from Massachusetts, Lina spent her entire youth playing classical piano, certain it would make an excellent double-major in college, but nothing more. She started writing songs on the piano at 16, played one coffee shop set and a single open mic night, and then put it aside to pursue that double-major in college, eventually dropping the music degree entirely for international relations.
Years went by, college ended, 3 miserable "real-world jobs" began, grad school ended, another miserable job began, and somewhere along the way Lina discovered guitar and a new voice. At 26, on one particularly bad day at the office, she quit her job on a whim and decided to be a musician.
The result was a new-found sense of belonging and a pile of songs about change, rejecting paradigms and growth. With a warm voice, rich guitar, and evocative and observational lyrics, Lina delivers a particular brand of melancholy. Performing solo, Lina has since been playing shows around Manhattan and Brooklyn, working on material for her first album.
