The best kept secret in music

Press

Los Angeles-based solo artist Linda Dam (with talented backup players) has created a CD of acoustic-based tunes that will appeal to lovers of uncomplicated folk-based music sung by a woman whose voice seems to emanate from a pure heart. “Sitting In The Sunshine,” punctuated by banjo, is a buoyant tune with lyrics that express a realistic philosophy of life. “My Baby” has a warm, sexy aura. “I Miss You” allows Dam’s folk spirit to soar. A nice cover of “Leaving On A Jet Plane” is here, too. - vol. XXX1, no. 10, 5/07/07

Bio

Linda Dam stems from los angeles as a singer-songwriter with a voice and style from 40 years ago. Often compared to Judy Collins and Joan Baez, Linda has a pure and dreamy voice that is the centerpiece of her music. Drawing inspiration from many folk heroes and a background in musical theater, Linda has also always been compelled to tell a story through her music. She lures her listeners into her songwriting with timeless situations that we all can relate to, while allowing her vocals to be the signatory messenger.
In September of 2006, encouraged by numerous fans and colleagues, Linda financially risked co-producing her debut CD “Unlocked,” with the help of LA producer/engineer, Marc Doten. Since then, she has more than recouped her investment through digital distribution sales and marketing her CDs at countless live shows throughout the West Coast. Although she rarely seeks out criticism, Linda was approached by Music Connection magazine to review her album in their May 3rd, 2007 issue. They write, “Los Angeles-based solo artist Linda Dam (with talented backup players) has created a CD of acoustic-based tunes that will appeal to lovers of uncomplicated folk-based music sung by a woman whose voice seems to emanate from a pure heart.” Without a doubt, Linda joins the music scene with an old-fashioned, honest, and approachable folk style that, with the help of her unwavering persistence, will be around for a long time.
