Bio

Linda Lang was surrounded by music growing up. By the time she was 3, she was singing along to the radio, and with her daddy and his guitar. She remembers staying up late at night, just to hear her parents sing together. When her father was young, he had his own radio show and band, (The East Texas Playboys), in Houston, Texas. (not to be confused with the Bob Will's band). Before meeting her dad, Linda's mother and aunt were a singing duo, making trips to Nashville, Tn. and singing at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tn. The music fascinated Linda. It didn’t take her long to realize she was blessed with a gift to sing. Starting at the age of 12, she sang at her first public performance. This is when she won her first trophy and award in a local talent contest. Sadly, when Linda was just 13 years old, she lost her dad to a heart attack. Though he only got to witness a few of Linda's public performances, his memory, along with her dream, stayed alive in her heart. She continued on with her music, and at the age of 16, she wrote a song about a local missing girl, Kimberly Norwood, which sparked media attention, and received local radio station airplay. Not long after, she was requested to sing at many different venues around her hometown area, and then joined a local talent company. It was with this company, that Linda would win yet another award for "New Horizon Star" of East Texas. Through the years, she went on to win many more awards, and a total of 13 trophies for talent. She also won Miss Photogenic in her hometown beauty pageant, and 1st place for beauty. 5 years after winning New Horizon Star, she was asked by city officials to open a show for Miss America, who was hosting a literacy program. The show received news coverage, professional photo packets, and Linda was paid for her performance. It is something she is very proud of. She has performed all over East Texas, including churches, festivals, civic centers, fairs, Montgomery, Texas opry, Carthage City opry, Holiday festivities, and much more. Aside from her music career, she also took classes in theatre/acting in high school. She has said that starring in a t.v. show, or having her own t.v. show, would be a great addition to the music. Her latest accomplishments include winning second place in the Bix Talent contest, with her rendition of "I Fall To Pieces", in which she received a cash prize award for. In 2 other contests on Bix, she also won second and third place with "Sweet Dreams" and "Angel", and many more placements at the Bix community. Her talent has attracted many fans, with the latest being Dolly Parton. Dolly recently heard Linda's demo CD, and asked if she could keep it. She compared Linda's vocals to Patsy Cline, and was very impressed. Linda is hoping that after her CD is complete, that music industry professionals will be equally impressed with her talent. She says "It's something i've lived for, dreamed of, hoped for, and worked hard for, and as long as people love me and enjoy hearing me sing, i will continue to pursue my career in country music".
