Linda Miles stormed onto the blues and jazz scene in 2008, adding to an already coloful career in gospel music. Linda grew up singing gospel music in her Fathers Baptist church in Los Angeles and developed a reputation throughout the city for her powerful vocal stylings.
In 1994 Linda met music producer Francis Gavin who was instantly interested in Linda as a blues artist. At that time Linda had little desire to sing the blues. But, after many years as wife, mother and director of a South Central L.A. youth center, Lady got the blues and Gavin got the call.
In 2007 Gavin garnered the talents of writers Chuck Duffy and Leonard Kallok. The two writers put together an original ten song CD, and recorded the songs with Linda.
In 2008 Lindas first CD, Home Cookin was released. With the CD release came the development of Lindas five piece band, The Linda Miles Band. The CD and the band propelled Linda into a musical career that has landed her onstage with some of the greatest female blues artists of today. Onstage Linda continues to be a powerhouse of vocal talent, entertaining audiences everywhere.
In addition to her busy schedule as a blues and jazz singer Linda continues to sing gospel music. Shes traveled to Brazil, Argentina and Puerto Rico as lead vocalist with the Los Angeles Episcopal Chorale. In November 2011 she journeyed with the chorale to Beijing, China where she and the Chorale mesmerized the people of China.
In 2012 Linda Miles is already booked for several music festivals and concerts throughout the country.
Over the next year she is scheduled to release a blues and jazz CD of outstanding cover tunes, and a gospel CD. Keep your eyes and ears open for this new artist Linda Miles a real diamond in the rough!
