At the age of 20, she auditioned in New York City for American Idol, Season 3 (2003/04). She competed and survived three more levels of competitions and ultimately finished as an Alternate to the “Top 32.”

Following a one year contract signed with American Idol, where she was contractually not permitted to sing in public, she joined a New Jersey based party band. She was with the band for a year and a half and performed at such venues as Sand’s Casino in Atlantic City and at the NASCAR Race at Dover International Speedway.

In May 2005, Lindsey was selected by 92.5 WXTU to compete in the Colgate Country Showdown (America’s Largest Country Music Talent Search). After three additional levels of competition, she finished first in the State of Pennsylvania in August 2005.
