(Spain) Their sounds come from the estrangement of the musical styles they love merged in an inusual melting-pot, which finds the most difficult even if in search of the most simple. Their live acts show that two artists can sound as powerful as if there were six of them on the stage and, depending on their mood, if you are lucky the show could end in a happening.

- http://www.triphopmusicexperience.com

"EP3, EL PAIS"

Of all the last local attempts to reach what the post-punk was, they're maybe the ones that have better developed that move away conventional noise that reunite so different artist as Au Pairs, Pere Ubu and Chrome. This second album is much more than a well-learned historical lesson.”.
- RAFA CERVERA

"LA LUNA DE METROPOLI, EL MUNDO"

“ … they sound like if Le Mans had meet The Contortions in the newyorker no wave…” - JESÚS R.LENIN

"ROCKDELUX"

…in their Taxidermista they sink their scalpel in an astonishing universe, full of conspiratorial winks, conscious or not, to la neue deutsche welle de Palais schaumburg and Brian Eno's "Here Come The Warm Jets", as well as Gang Of Four, Devo, Talking Heads, Elli et Jacno, The B-52's, Aviador Dro, Ze Records stuff or no wave. All conveniently recycled and adapted to that nu rave philosphy that, in the end, fits perfectly with the "movida" spirit and this excesive and barroque city that Madrid is. Most interesting, without a doubt, the free jazz notes that sax introduces in "The Real Mother Fucker" and "Brian Touched Me The Brain", that contribute to raise the level of crazyness of this really exciting work” - LUIS LLES

"DIARIO DEL ALTO ARAGON"

Líneas Albiés, born in Madrid in 2003, is one of the most personal and funny bands of the current madrilian underground scene. The threesome, Pablo Pómez, Marieta Rabieta and Third Man Federex did publish their first record in 2004, "Confusion", and in november 2007 they have released their second record. "El Taxidermista" is full of jumpy pop songs, hysterical post-punk and free-jazz attempts. You could define them as Frand Ferdinand on speed, but the truth is that they gather much more influences like B-52 's , Talking Heads or Gang Of Four. - MIGUEL HERNANDEZ

THE HERESIES OF LINEAS ALBIES
(Mexico City, Autumn 2011 - by G. Santamarina.)

Certain heresies in current sonic art have been generated, albeit harmless. Líneas Albiés take heresy to the extreme, and they do not seem to fit at ease in any category previously established. We believe that their reptilian pop is linked to certain cults to forbidden forces, perhaps luciferian, according to the way they are skinning our most sacred icons. Our dear concept of pop is being subverted to a sort of witchcraft that blends irreconcilable influences. Orthodox punk is dragged to a maelstrom of paganism that also subverts some of the most delicate manifestations of contemporary culture. But, who the hell are they to exorcise our gods?

Here is a brief list of the heresies about to be committed:

Incubi coming from The Blitz circa 1977 are summoned to possess the festive Mediterranean bunches in Dadaist rituals, about to fall into the chasm.

Yoko Ono is exorcized and turned into Sharon Tate a-go-go, displaying discreet breasts and beard: a lollipop star of an ageless witches’ coven…(If she found out what’s been done to her, she would surely shave her head off).

New Order is forced against their will to go back to their enigmatic origins, and to lose their precious virginity.

Gary Numan is submitted to a transmutation that will only favor him in the World Beyond. Devo, Gang of Four and The The come out to sing Christmas carols.

Magazine is put inside the blender along with The Slits. Cosey Fani Tutti’s kinky blueberry is added: the result is a fierce potion that reanimates the overdosed dead during the Movida Madrileña.

Occult influences of unpredictable shapes become manifest. Líneas Albiés enters into a frank revolt against the conventional curse of alternative pop.

Captain Beefheart is taken to Shinjuku 1981, and transformed into a salamander executing vampiric pubescent anthems. Disco music is darkened and taken to its most fatidic extremes, turned into the music of paranormal life felines with lysergic expectations.

Ian Curtis revives, along with a pantheon of automats, and dances an apocalyptic chotis. He will eventually return to his grave, after the orgasm produced by the lecherous exploitation of his name.

Líneas Albiés are the authors of the voodoo ritual that brings the slumbering minds back to life.

Let the flamboyant and sleepwalking society be warned of the imminent contingency.
