Bio

Originally from Muskoka Ontario, Linehaul blends a small town intimacy into the alternative rock genre. Their sound is described as a combination of indie rock, pop and folk rock. Varied instrumentation, including cello, harmonica and organ, add to the many layers of Linehaul’s music while poetic lyrics provide a personal and accessible experience for listeners.

The four piece recorded their first EP in 2005. Now, armed with a full album, Linehaul has honed their songwriting ability and is working to increase their Toronto-based profile.

Linehaul is comprised of Daniel Sundy (vocals/keys), Kent Hammond (guitar/vocals), Hugh Montgomery (bass) and Stephen Renton (drums). Their high-energy performances have filled many Toronto clubs including the Horseshoe Tavern, Lee’s Palace and the El Mocambo. Growing recognition has earned Linehaul opportunities to share the stage with other up-and-coming artists such as The Junction and The Marble Index.

A devoted work ethic greatly contributes to Linehaul’s increasing success; the four artists make music their first priority. Their approachable demeanor has resulted in various relationships formed with members of Ontario’s music community. As a Muskokan journalist wrote: “With a new CD on the way and a professional attitude, Linehaul is gearing up for the long haul.”
