Linger

Dynamic hard rock with varied composition and an eclectic sound. That about sums up the powerful music of Linger, which originally started with three young lads named David Roman, Rob Hillstead and Nathan Binns. Intrigued by the creative potential that the art of music provided, these three gentlemen started on a long journey that would eventually culminate in the diverse sound and style of Linger today.

Since 1999, a broad range of talented musicians has come and gone through Linger, each one of them influencing the musical direction in a new way. Thanks to this atmosphere of collaboration, Linger has experimented with a variety of organic and electronic instruments and soundscapes, and has been influenced by various genres from several different cultures. This diversity has been coupled with a wide range of tempos, timings, and dynamics, translating into music that can evoke a variety of emotional responses. While time has passed and the members of Linger have grown and sometimes changed, the meaning of the music has also undergone a simultaneous transformation growing far more conceptual and provocative. Thus, the music of Linger is full of motifs and metaphors that cumulatively tell a story while providing commentary on various social and political issues.

Linger will be hoping to make a lot of noise in the music industry in 2008 being finally prepared to release their debut album “The Root of Truth”. Having toured all across Saskatchewan with their high energy live show, and having played major venues like Casino Regina and the now defunct Flatlands Music Festival, Linger will be looking to expand their audience within and outside the borders of Saskatchewan armed with their new LP.
