PRESENTING: LIONCUB

LionCub is the latest blazin’ hot, young talent that Kingston, Jamaica has produced in decades, so hot, that FM radio has been blowing up his latest joints, especially his dancehall sensation “Sikka, Sika” single, and the achingly beautiful, “ Thank You Jah”. Lion Cub’s video entitled “Sika Sitten” in collaboration with DownSound Records is on YouTube and has blown up the net along with 3 new songs in rotation throughout the media waves, generating mad response.

A definite sensation because of his high-energy vocals, commanding stage presence and unique soulful deliveries, has made his performances sold out affairs. Lion Cub is a true firebrand DJ.

LionCub grew up in the same location that also housed K & D Dub Cutting Studio, so at the tender age of 8 years old, was singing and learning to cut dubs, at the resident set, the Miami Vince sound system. “Yea, man, I began at an early age, in fact, it was Little Meeks and Daddy Meeks who make me do a dub plate for Black Giant at 9 years old,” he explained. “My uncle Ken owned the studio and I used to turn on the equipment when no one was around, and run the machine with my cousin, Ramone. I loved music at an early age, but my parents never saw music as a career, or as a way of bringing in the bread every week, so after graduating, I learned the mason trade,” he said, simply.

In 2005, Lion Cub joined forces with friend and engineer, Michael Adams, who is based at Downsound Records, and together turned out music to heal the souls of man. Songs like “Gas Up” on the “Sweet Sop Rhythm” received massive airplay, especially from the 93.5 FM overseas disc jock “Samantha Rose” but it’s his superbly produced and reverent, “Thank You Jah” that has reggae aficionados sitting up and paying attention to this young man. Since the overwhelming success he’s had, Lion Cub’s been in high demand playing all over the Caribbean.

“ it's just crazy work right now, and I’m looking forward to bringing my music to the people of the world, starting with my U.S. tour in 2011. “I'm just going to keep doing the work, and continue to give thanks and praise to Jah for this gift.” “ Thank You Jah is a testimony to this!” He stated in a recent interview.

Lion Cub is currently in the United States promoting on his new “self-penned” CD, which will show deeper and stronger sides to his already cultured talents. Lion Cub’s videos and new music are a joy to the senses.

More love, more life and more music to come from Lion Cub!!
