"LION HEIGHTS- PENNIES IN MY POCKET [DOWNLOAD]"

Lion Heights is a Reggae/Dub outfit from the Chicagoland area, that’s hear to inform you and the contemporary world, that reggae isn’t all dutchies and jerk chicken. In this tune, the vocalist wails on about the trials of living with just the bare minimum and trying to deal with the constant ills of living in such an ever morphing cruel world. With quality pan flute performance, a catchy chorus and effective lyric delivery, Lion Heights has a tune for the soul and a future that’s hopefully bright. - Outskirt Noise

""Good One" Featured on the World Reggae Show"

[TRANSCRIPT FROM RADIO SHOW]

"A super niceness hit! Well... maybe future hit. That is a brand new one... Lion Heights, which started the show with Good One... A massive good one! Around here at the World Reggae Show, we call that tune an ambassador selection, because it represents everything about the World Reggae Show in top rankin fashion. Rough cut! Listened to that tune oh, 50 times before the show. You keep an eye on Lion Heights - dem a go places! That's how you get your tune on at number one at the World Reggae Show" - DJ Jack Slater - Jack Slater

"Lion Heights - Same Situation (Rebel Sound Records)"

- Reggae.Be

"Lion Heights "Same Situation" Album Review"

There is a slight novelty aspect to the way the four-piece Texan band Lion Heights dazzle their listeners on their latest release to the world titled Same Situation. Their musical chops are undeniably, flashy versions of what you would hear come out of legendary artists like Bob Marley or Gregory Isaacs. The 11 track album loosely pays tribute to these roots legends.

Such tracks as "Dream Girl," "Wander on Girl" and "Too Young" play like giddy summer romances, striking the delicate balance of charming and nostalgic. Same Situation combines the best elements of its roots reggae inspired outings with a sharp attention to song structure. The result is a collection that succeeds on multiple fronts, and one sure to please both the avid roots reggae fan as well as the casual listener.

Without a doubt, Lion Heights' Same Situation deserves a spot in your music library. It is a soothing, diverse and well-crafted piece that veers from one influence to the next but doesn't lose focus on its blend of roots reggae and steady dub beats. - Top Shelf Reggae

Bio

Lion Heights began in 2013 in the west side of Chicago, IL. The group is mainly influenced by the roots music that was pumping out of Jamaica in the 60s and 70s. However, combining  aspects of soul and R&B helps them to introduce reggae music to new audiences. This versatility has created opportunities for Lion Heights to back up legendary Jamaican artists such as I Wayne, Sister Nancy, Lady G and Dawn Penn, and also provide direct support for more contemporary acts such as Dubtonic Kru, New Kingston, Kabaka Pyramid and E.N Young of Tribal Seeds. Lion Heights relocated to Austin, TX in 2014 and since has been a reoccurring act at the city's famous Flamingo Cantina- bringing a rejuvenating sound to the reggae scene. They have independently released one EP (Survival Of The Richest) and a handful of singles. Recently, Lion Heights released their first official single "Good One (Ft. SLik d)" which was distributed worldwide through the Rebel Sound label. "Good One" has since been featured on radio shows all over the U.S. as well as Jamaica and the UK. The group has just finished their debut record "Same Situation" which was released June 9th on Rebel Sound Records. Lion Heights continues to tour and play local shows; simultaneously building up their fan base in Austin and abroad.
