Uniquely able to sing sultry songs while playing bass guitar Ann Arbor native Gwenyth Hayes is an ever-evolving diverse professional musician never bound by genre or generation. Recently returning to Michigan after a 3 year stint as a “first call” bassist on the competitive Chicago Blues scene, Gwenyth AKA "Wendy" has joined up with the areas most well-known and respected jazz, soul, and gospel musicians to make Liquid Hayes reinventing time-worn traditional pop covers creating nostaglia with one genration with a contemporary feel accessible to the younger.

Debuting in 2008 on the Chicago blues scene she quickly rose up the ranks and began playing bass with some of the top international and local blues artists. Throughout the majority of 2010 Gwenyth “Wendy” Hayes could have been seen playing and singing with at the 2010 Chicago Music Award winning venue Kingston Mines performing with Alligator Records recording artists Maurice John Vaughn and Byther Smith. Miss Hayes is also the former the bassist for Delmark recording artist Quintus McCormick, and is a backup singer on “Hey Jodie!” The Quintus McCormick Blues Band’s November 2009 album on Delmark label which was nominated for two 2010 Chicago Music Awards reached the top 10 on the Living Blues Charts.

In 2008 Miss Hayes was featured in and exclusive one page article: "Walking the Bass Line with Gwenyth Hayes" in BUDDY GUY'S LEGEND'S Newsletter (included below) and while playing regularly at his world famous club Legend’s she has played behind the Grammy Award winning Buddy Guy himself. While touring with another blues chart climbing recording artist Murali Coryell she has had the privilege of playing behind his father legendary jazz guitarist Larry Coryell.

October 2010 she was celebrated as a hometown success story when she was written up in a feature article in Ann Arbor's Groundcover News Magazine "From SafeHouse to Blues Club: Ann Arbor Woman makes it in Chicago Blues Scene" (included below).

Recently she was honored by world famous bass player Chuckaluck with a Bass Tribes Online Magazine. In March 2008 she opened the show for blues legend B.B. King at Shea's Performing Art Center in Buffalo, NY. In 2007 she opened the First Annual Detroit Blues Festival at Chene Park with featured soul artists such as Clarence Carter, Mel Waiters, and Denise LaSalle.
