"Liquid Todd Moves to KTU"

May 25, 2005 -- Liquid Todd will launch a new show on the airwaves of New York City with the debut of Altered State this Friday night 103.5 WKTU. The show will air from 1-3 a.m. every Friday night (Saturday morning) with hosts Liquid Todd and co-host Steve "El" Covino back together again, picking up where Solid State left off when WXRK (K-Rock) dropped the program after flipping to its new "Great Rock. Period." format. The first hour of Altered State will be dedicated to Liquid Todd mixes while the second hour will feature a guest deejay picked from the cream of the crop. "The best deejays in the world will be featured every week on Altered State," Todd told FMQB. "Instead of trying to find cool mixes of K-Rock songs I'm going to try to find hip mixes of 'KTU songs - and mix them all up with the heavy hitters of my format. I'm excited to get back on the radio in New York." - FMQB

Feeling a bit camera shy

Liquid Todd is an award-winning dj, programmer and producer based in New York City. Todd has launched groundbreaking mixshows in Boston and New York City – where his legendary Solid State, show recently moved from 92.3 K-Rock, NY to 103.5 KTU where it became ALTERED STATE and airs Friday nights, 1-3am, on «The Beat of New York.» The move to KTU came exactly one month after Solid State celebrated eight years on the air in New York City on April 6, 2005.
In addition to his work on «terrestrial» radio Liquid Todd's trademark genre-bending style has been heard all over Sirius Satellite Radio for the past year or so where – in addition to holding down the afternoon-drive shift on Boombox/61 (Monday-Friday, 4-10pm EST) and hosting The Liquid Todd Show on Alt Nation/21 (Sunday, 9pm-mid EST) he also helps program Boombox/61 and Chill/64 - channels he helped create for Sirius. You can hear LT's studio skills between songs on Chill – he produces all the imaging for the channel. Listen online at

Off the air, Todd writes and produces music in his fully-loaded Pro-Tools studio and has placed original music and remixes on major motion picture soundtracks and underground DJ mix comps alike. When he makes it outside you can find Liquid Todd performing at clubs, festivals and parties all over the world to audiences from 6 to 60,000 – including frequent supporting performances for one of the world's biggest DJs, Paul Oakenfold, who has been calling on LT to open for him on North American tour dates for the past five years.

None of this would have happened if Todd hadn’t fallen so hard for remix culture and broadcasting after college. In 1994 LT broke new ground by being the first DJ with a show dedicated solely to rave and DJ culture on a major radio station in Boston - first on 101.7 WFNX, then on 104.1 WBCN. In April of 1997, Todd brought his talent to bear on the mighty 92.3 K-Rock in New York – the #1 rock station in the #1 market in the country. Memorial Day Weekend 2005 marked a new chapter for Solid State when – following a format change at WXRK – LT and co-host Steve «El» Covino found a new home at legendary New York dance station WKTU (103.5 FM).

On the air and on stage Liquid Todd gives it everything he’s got – hamming it up with the audience, bouncing around the DJ booth and occasionally taking a walk to inspect the dancefloor while he’s rocking the house. You can tell nothing makes him happier than whipping a room – or the entire New York metropolitan area for that matter - into a frenzy with his trademark energetic, funky formats-be-damned delivery.
