Bio
Jose Paes de Lira, Lirinha, is a musician, writer and composer. He began his artistic career at 12 years of age, as reciter of poetry in Arcoverde, interior of Pernambuco. In 1997 he designed and built the scenic spectacle musical Cordel Do Fogo Encantado, the most striking and original novelty experienced by music from Pernambuco, after the emergence of Chico Science.
With the group recorded three albums: Cordel do Fogo Encantado (2000), The Future without a Circus Clown (2002) and Transfiguration (2006). In October 2005, launched the DVD MTV Presents: Cordel do Fogo Encantado.
With the band won over audiences in Brazil and abroad with a breathtaking performance and a consistent sound, not only for innovation in the use of traditional percussion, but also with the strength and quality of letters and a new way to bring poetry recited to a general public.
