One way to separate jazz singing wheat from chaff is the presence of elegant simplicity. It is this quality that Lisa Lindsley's debut, Every Time We Say Goodbye, has in copious amounts, due to the fortunate intersection of a music savvy/recording naive singer in Lindsley; the availability of empathetic support in pianist George Mesterhazy and bassist Fred Randolf; and the presence of emotional challenge in the singer's life. The result is a sonic alchemy that is simple and pure a quicksilver and equally elusive.

Lisa Lindsley's debut CD, "Everytime We Say Goodbye" is a fine roll of silk filled with colors, light and compassion.
George Mesterhazy is a brilliant Grammy-nominated jazz pianist who has played on countless albums supporting the biggest names in show business. For years he was pianist for the great Shirley Horn after diabetes took her foot and she could no longer play the piano. He has performed at venues around the world and currently resides in Cape May, New Jersey where he runs the Marion Inn while still finding time to run around the world and play.
Lisa Lindsley is blossoming into a wonderful jazz singer, she brings life and emotion into anything she sings. Her light,fresh sound is, at times, reminiscent of Blossom Dearie...Her playful and humorous performances are delightful and highly recommended and her dedication to the music is paying off big time as she turns into a real jazz singer.
Fred Randolph is currently the leader of The Fred Randolph Quintet and has played around the Bay Area as well as the World Music Festival in Shanghai, Vallejo Jazz Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival, and Fillmore Street Jazz Festival.
The paring of these two musicians with Lisa on this album will send sultry chills of delight through your body.

Jazz vocalist Lisa Lindsley Ignites the City of Lights with her second album “Long After Midnight”, a gorgeous and playful program of familiar and overlooked standards recorded in Paris.
Jazz vocalist Lisa Lindsley moved to Paris for a year settling into the 19th arrondissement and quickly developed a network of regular gigs with skilled accompanists. Aligning herself with pianist Laurent Marode, drummer Mourad Benhammou, Esaie Cid on flute, clarinet and tenor saxophone, and Bay Area bass master Jeff Chambers (brought to Paris to record their album, Long After Midnight.)
Their first recording together, Long After Midnight is a fully realized statement from Lindsley as an artist with a discerning ear for overlooked material and a sure sense of songs ideally suited for her pleasingly smoky soprano. Couple that with the pulsing heartbeat of Jeff Chambers imposing bass lines, Mourad Benhammou’s dexterous brush work as well as Laurent Madrode’s melodic and seductive piano playing and Esaie Cid’s lustrous flute and horns, and you have a coterie of magic that lights up every time they play music together.
As the dawn approaches and the evening’s revelry comes to an end, Lindsley hasn’t started to wear out her welcome. She’s a jazz singer who knows that the music is at its best when it flows from lived experience. It’s an album for blissful late-night listening that leaves you wondering what the next day has to offer.
