Bio

Hi!  I'm Lisa Ann. I write songs, play 'em and sing 'em, and hope ya like 'em! I'm a singer/songwriter, like to bring in new sounds and try new ideas, 'cause the growing process should never end. Like new stuff, like the old stuff, too. I can do covers, and I write new songs pretty much constantly. Never run outta material.

Some news:

I am just releasing a brand-spanking new 5-song EP "Here I Am" which can be accessed digitally here. Several fine musicians contributed their talents, including folks recording in Ithaca area; premier musicians Hank Roberts, Doug Robinson, Michael Wellen, and Jan Nigro, and folks recording in NYC; Justin Mathews and Ginny Sterling, and folks recording in Takoma Park, Steve Steckler and Keith Arneson

I was SO happy to be the featured musical guest on Northern Spirit Radio's Song of the Soul, with host Mark Judkins Helpsmeet! That was a fun interview which featured six of my originals.

"My Daily Bread" is a finalist in the 2018 Peace Song Awards and was awarded a Silver Medal in the Global Music Awards. Also, this song was a finalist/added to RAWA's Songs of Social Change Compilation CD , and it is was a nominee for the 2019 Hollywood Songwriting Contest.

I had fun recording "I Paid Up"  with the doo-wop guys from the Tee-tones, and was pleased to see it was just chosen for the Honorable Mention award for the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest in the Americana category! Also,  "No Apology" was chosen for the Honorable Mention award in the Gospel/Christian/Inspirational category.

The Kids Ain't Alright has been on Airplay Today's top 100 College/Indie chart since July.

Life is good!  "I Know You" last year received an honorable mention for the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. So I thought I should mention that I am honored! :-)  Also, getting airplay for "I Know You," "Just a Little Thing" and "Here I Am" on KCEGcountry.com, which is cool. And Songshooter.com will be featuring "White Girl Blues." Got some recent airplay for My Daily Bread on KGNU's Restless Mornings  , WJCU's The I, the IV and the V  and WLRN's Folk and Acoustic show hosted by Michael Stock.

My duo with Diana Quinn, aka Snarky Sisterz!  will be in Maine this summer, doing a bunch of gigs, including a stop at Hammond Hall in Winter Harbor!
