BandPopAcoustic

I have been singing my entire life. It's all that I want to do! My influences are definitely Paramore and Jennifer Rostock. I would love to be apart of a band that sounds like them. I love to write my own music and can play guitar and piano. I look forward to meeting some people to collaborate with!

Biography

My name is Lisa Calfa and I am 27 years old. I am a Registered Nurse and I work downtown Vancouver teaching kidney dialysis. I grew up in Kamloops, BC and spent a few years living in Prince George, BC as well. I am a very down-to-earth person, I am genuine, and I love my friends and family to death. I am so lucky to have such great people apart of my life.

I have loved singing every since I was little. I first learned how to play piano and subsequently took vocal lessons and in my early 20's learned how to play guitar. I have been writing my own music for years. I collaborated with a friend for many years, playing acoustic/pop music. We both play guitars and we focus alot on harmonies.

Today, I'd like to spread my wings and venture into another direction with my music. I am always up for a challenge musically and most recently have begun doing my own recording. It has helped me learn so much about my voice. I have always wanted to be in a full band. Over the years I have loved listening to No Doubt, Paramore, Jennifer Rostock, pretty much any rock band that has a female as lead vocalist. I like to see myself as a singer who is diverse. I will hopefully upload some tracks soon on here to show you what I've got :)

Besides music, I love downhill mountain biking. I am lucky to be living so close to Whistler and have been using that to my advantage!

Discography

All of my songs were written by myself. I have had the opportunity to do some studio recording with my friend Sarah a few years back. I have uploaded some of those songs here. A friend of mine, Kris Ruston, did the recording at his personal studio for "Am I Getting Closer?" and "Insomnia". These songs feature my friend Sarah. The other tracks were all arranged, mixed, and recorded by myself. Thanks for taking a listen!!!
