Bio
Lisa Day is a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Northern Virginia. As a current student at James Madison University (JMU), she is studying Music Industry with a vocal concentration. Outside of Lisa’s classical training in school, she simply loves to write, record, and perform all styles of music. Growing up, Lisa sang in choirs, performed in theatre groups, and also had her own solo act. Always thinking creatively, Lisa started to write jingles and songs, and arrangements of popular songs to use for auditions to better showcase her voice. Whether she was performing her original pieces, or covering popular music, she couldn’t get enough of singing for others.
By her senior year in high school, Lisa had received several honors as a singer and musician, and was asked to write a song for her high school graduation. “This Song” was written for her high school commencement and was performed by her and five other students at the ceremony. When Lisa decided to further her education in music at JMU, she knew that if she wanted to be a recording artist as well, she would have to find extra time in her already busy schedule to accomplish this goal.
In the summer of 2009, Lisa spent her time writing, practicing, and preparing her music to be recorded. By the time school started she was ready to start recording, and each weekend, she traveled back and forth between school and the studio, working to finish what she had started.
Lisa’s debut album, “Here’s To You”, a seven-song EP, has a refreshing, new sound that will surely be enjoyed by all who hear it.
