Biography

With the voice of an Angel, Lisa has a special gift that captures the souls and spirits of others in her songs. Coloring a picture with her dynamic tones and powerful lyrics, she puts you right there in the song.
From the battlefields of Gettysburg, to the fields of Kentucky with Henry's mighty mules, she has mastered the fine art of story telling.
Growing up in Raritan NJ, Lisa was influenced by a variety of music and as a child always enjoyed composing poems. Lisa has included some of her life experiences in her songwriting.

Lisa also works with her partner Chuck Winch, as a duo "Plum Run". They have just completed a wonderful all original album on the American Civil War, entitled, "No Longer Gray Or Blue". This album features Bob Harris on guitar and Travis Wetzel on fiddle. These are songs of the civil war soldier, very heart felt stories with reality like no others of today.

In addition to her music career Lisa has driven an 18 wheeler for 20 years, using her time behind the wheel to craft her beautiful songs. Lisa is currently working on her debut album, songs of love, youth, heartache and joy. Jazzdate and So In Love are two songs chosen to premiere this album.

Lyrics

Juliann Johnson

Written By: Lisa Godino

Juliann Johnson, won't you marry me.
Your Billy's gone off to war, and I'm so lonely.

Working in the coal mines, every day.
You're always on my mind, it's driving me insane.

Paper said the boys in blue, were shot down in Tennessee.
Johnny Reb came up from behind, and dropped them to their knees.

No one's heard from Billy, since that bloody day.
So won't you marry me, and we could run away.

If I can't have you, i will fall apart. So please say yes, and be my sweetheart.

Juliann Johnson, would'nt marry me.
Now I greet her every morning, beneath the maple tree

Me and my fiddle, play her a sad love song.
She was the only girl, that I ever loved

Chaplain

Written By: Lisa Godino

When I walk into a battle will I be a strong man as I hold this riffle musket in my trembling hands
Will I turn around and run and be shunned by everyone or fight proud and brave and be taken to my grave
Chorus:
Oh chaplain here me calling out to you whats a young boys heart suppose to do and chaplain take me by your weary side and pray for me to go to heaven should I die

Will I be sickened by the blood that colors the farmers field will I cry out loudly for the death of my peers will I go to shoot a man and be frozen in my stance or will I shoot him down with just one round oh here I go again
Chorus:
Oh chaplain here me calling out to you whats a young boys heart suppose to do and chaplain take me by your weary side and pray for me to go to heaven should I die
Change:
And this train keeps a rolling down these old rusty rail you can hear her whistle blowing across this northern Ohio trail

When I reach my destination I will try to be brave I will fight for my country no matter what it takes and if I do not survive will someone please take me home and bury me in the soil of Ohio
Chorus
Oh chaplain here me calling out to you whats a young boys heart suppose to do and chaplain take me by your weary side and pray for me to go to heaven should I die and pray for me to go to heaven should I die
