Bio

Considered “one of the most promising youngsters on the circuit,” (SevenDays VT) Lisa Piccirillo is a Vermont-based singer/songwriter whose long-awaited debut record chronicles poignant observations with honesty and grace.

The first release from Northeast artist collective, The Co-Op, “Momentum” (2008) was produced and co-written by nationally acclaimed singer/songwriter, Syd, who approached fellow songwriter Patrick Thomas to play on and help arrange a few songs for the full length. The result is a satisfying blend of folk and pop which allows the r&b tendencies and technical intricacies of Lisa’s vocals to truly shine through, revealing a range of influences that include Deb Talan (The Weepies), Sarah McLachlan, and Mariah Carey. Her compelling writing provides a solid foundation for her hypnotic voice, which has drawn comparisons to powerhouse vocalists from Patty Griffin to Christina Aguilera.

Lisa has performed in legendary venues across the country such as Saratoga Springs’ Caffè Lena, Boston’s Club Passim, as well as the Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End in New York City. In addition, Lisa has toured with Gregory Douglass, and shared the stage with October Project, Edie Carey, and Peter Mulvey (among others).

Teaming up again in September of 2010, Lisa, Syd, and Patrick Thomas quietly and gracefully transformed into a band called Hotels & Highways when the three Co-Op co-founders met at a lakeside cabin in New York to fulfill a mutual, career-long dream of living together while recording an album. Released in March 2011 and supported by a 6-week national tour, Hotels & Highways' cabin-grown debut, "Lost River," was named an Amazon.com Editor's Pick for 2011 and continues to hold a steady spot on the Roots Radio charts.
