Bio
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Lisette is a multi-instrumentalist who began singing at the tender age of 4. She has amazed many with her wide vocal range and powerful agility. She first gained industry attention at the age of 16, after recording on a Jungle Brothers Record, "Doin' Our Own Thang," with artist Q-Tip. In 1996, she signed a demo deal with Mercury Records and since then has performed on the local and international level.
A daughter of Puerto- Rican parents, Lisette's primary musical experience was rooted in Latin music. Lisette began to play percussion at the age of 18 and later went on to study drum kit. She has studied Afro-Cuban percussion such as Bata and congas with great masters in Cuba and in New York. She, also, has studied Brazilian percussion and has played caixa (snare) in two separate samba schools during Rio de Janeiro’s famed Carnival 2003.
As well as being a talented performer, Lisette is a gifted songwriter. She is currently co-writing and performing on a jam band project coming out of New Orleans as well as numerous other projects.
Lisette lives in Brooklyn and performs in and out of New York. She plays in bands ranging in styles from Pop, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Jazz, Funk and R & B. Lisette sings in different languages and performs in different genres with ease.
