tyler -- Cut & Paste - 2009

Listen to Tyler, a Nashville-based, piano-heavy rock band delivers a fresh sound that will literally rock your face off. Blending the piano influences of Jerry Lee Lewis and Ben Folds with the rock sounds of The Doors and the Lo-Fi feel of Beck and The Eels, Listen to Tyler is an indie piano rock band whose songs not only create a high-energy live show, but also stay with the audience through the use of clever, witty hooks. The sound is a shout-out to the hipster sixties swing, and the lyrics provide a satirical look at the modern world around us.
Listen to Tyler was started by lead singer and piano player Tyler Johnson, who wrote, recorded, and prodcued all 10 songs on his first album, tyler-- Cut and Paste, recording it with only a computer, keyboard, mic, and a $7 adapter from Radio Shack. The album is available for purchase in shrinkwrap at live performances, and will be available shortly on iTunes. After a year of work, Johnson added bass guitarist Ryan Mullenix, guitar player Mike Salaway, and drummer Daniel Scoby to form Listen to Tyler. In addition to playing live, Johnson is currently writing and recording a second album to be released in the spring 2010.
