Bio
In early 2009, soon before graduating from McNeil High School, A-rif began working on his first hip-hop project as a joke, producing beats in GarageBand and recording verses by himself and Jay-Masta Mic (now known as Absurd) on his iMac camera microphone, resulting in Introducing A-rif, the Coolest Motherfucker on tha Block. The album was only distributed among their friends, and is now a lost gem in the world of music. In the following months, A-rif began producing music more seriously, and took to sampling a variety of music, notably psychedelic rock. The two then formed a group with fellow rappers and friends from high school, Kyuu and Elimeno P, the latter of which chose the name Glocktopus for the four-piece. Soon after this, Kyuu invited friends and producers Newton and Sufi to a hip hop collective he dubbed the Lit Match Clik, and suggested unifying the entire group of friends under this new banner. Before long, LMC grew to include rapper/producer Monolith and DJ Nakun the Judge, and later Quawunderbiily Bustogclef. Each producer and rapper has a unique sound which provides for a very interesting blend of musical moods and tones that still share the ability to bump hard, either in the car or at a show. The Lit Match Clik is kinda the shit. And we’re taking over the world, starting with the AT-Rex.
