The Little Birdies take you on a fun musical journey back in time; preforming classic Appalachian bluegrass, gospel, folk, and country songs in a close harmony singing style. Songs that were made famous on the grand old Opry in the 50’s and 60’s are brought back to life with joy and promise. The Little Birdies are home based in Central Virginia, near to and motivated by the beauty, music, and mystery of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Their music is inspired by the Carter Family, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, Hazel Dickens, and Doc Watson and Jean Ritchie. Alex Butterfield and Malcolm Pulley first performed together at the Galax Fiddler’s convention and people liked it! They received encouragement to continue preforming together and it was then that the Little Birdies was born. Malcolm contributes several original songs to the mix and adds harmony to support the powerful lead vocals delivered by Alex. Join them, sing along, and enjoy the music!
