Bio

Recognizing that nobody was playing the kind of music that they wanted to hear, the four came together late in 2006 to take over their little corner of the music scene. With a shared love for making heavy music like their home town heroes “Death from Above 1979” and a flair for intense artwork such as Janita Eyre and Matthew Barney, the four set to work on creating something new that would take their audience on an emotional rollercoaster ride through frantic and ecstatic live shows.

Guitarist Derek Davy met singer Ariel when they were both exhibiting their art work on Queen Street West. The next day they got together with drummer/brother Andrew Davy and bassist Chris Simpson to start what would soon become Little Black Stitches. After several months of intense writing and playing live, the songs started taking on a life of their own and it was clear that there was magic happening. The sound became a sonic brew that brought together decades of musical influences and blasted back like a blender without a lid.

The Band recorded a short 3-song demo in their rehearsal space in December 2006 using their own vintage equipment and their DIY attitude. They sold over 200 copies in the first month exclusively at their live shows. Shortly after this they were approached by renowned producer Sean Baillie to consider working on some new material and a longer EP which they hope to begin this summer.

Enjoy!
