Billing himself as a "multi-instrumentalist, pop experimentalist", Little Ghost is the recording alias of Toronto native Marcel Piscione. A project outside of his guitar/synthesizer work in Toronto group Backdoor Lightshow, Piscione has recently released a new EP of material under the Little Ghost moniker, titled Live // Breathe // Be. It's a strikingly heady effort, largely based upon downtempo and ambient styles, split into six different tracks (or acts) each with their own meaning. Fresh off a weekend vacation that featured my family and I being stranded halfway between Knoxville and Bowling Green, due to our brand new vehicle breaking down, I thought it was time to get back to work on Sirens.

While on my mini-vacation, I received an e-mail from Ray Piscione from Mississauga, Ontario about a side project he was working on titled Little Ghosts. It’s pretty superb ambient electronics packaged together with pop influenced vocals that add to the atmosphere of “FNLE”. That seems to be the hardest thing to do with this kind of sound; add vocals and not detract or overshadow the sound. I’m fairly surprised I haven’t saw this number pop up on another blog yet. Hopefully we can change that.
