Little Jane & the Pistol Whips

Little Jane & the Pistol Whips

Featured nationally on NPR and PBS, Little Jane fuses the best of Americana, folk, roots-acoustic, and bluegrass into a dynamic live show. They have They have a way of working their catchy melodies into your head, leaving you tapping your foot or humming the tune long after the music has ceased.

Little Jane & the Pistol Whips has taken many forms since it's 2008 inception, from acoustic, to electric, and now, back to acoustic. The one constant throughout all this change is Ashly Jane Holland. Front woman, founder, and songwriter for Little Jane & the Pistol Whips. Holland possesses a vocal quality that is uniquely her own, you can’t exactly pin who she may sound like, all you know is you can’t get enough of that voice. It can be smoky, sweet, warm, and inviting, it can take from the highest highs to the lowest lows. The emotion in the voice can only come from someone that’s lived through those experiences…as Ashly has.

A multi-instrumentalist, Ashly can back her voice with, acoustic guitar, fiddle, or accordion and she does so with grace and ease. Growing up in Big Sky country helped shape Ashly’s sound you hear today. Montana’s vast landscapes give a gal, as she writes in one of her songs, “Room to Roam.”

Little Jane is lucky to have such an amazing group of musicians to support her original songs. Tom Murphy (Mando-Murph) on Mandolin, Tony Polecastro on resonator guitar and banjo and Russ Smith on Bass.

Touring highlights: Grand Targhee Bluegrass, Montana Summerfest, Boulder Arts Festival, Sweet Pea Festival, Red Ants Pants Festival.

National recognition: PBS Special - 11th & Grant with Erik Funk; Gallatin Airport Featured Performer in tourism efforts (Montana), NPR

Where configured as an acoustic duo (Ashly Jane & Tony) or a four piece grass stomp/Americana band, Little Jane will delight all audiences.

Anchored by the multi-talented vocalist, instrumentalist and songwriter Ashly "Jane" Holland, Little Jane also features renowned Montana studio musician Tony Polecastro on dobro and banjo.
