Steve Roach & Little Rain
are rootsy rockn’roll, tinged with blues & alt-country. Hailing from Melbourne Australia, it is the brainchild of Melbourne based singer, songwriter and guitar player, Steve Roach, who writes the band’s songs.
Steve Roach & Little Rain are a 6 piece with guitars, violin, harmonica, drums and bass. With their eclectic mix of rootsy rocknroll, blues & alt-country.
The new album The Revelation, was released in Australia in February 2011 and is available now and has been released (27th May 2011) in the USA, Europe and Japan through Cinderella Records (Florida USA).
Little Rain pulls you into the emotion, pathos & life of Steve's songs brought to life by the beautiful violin and frenetic fiddle of virtuoso Marcy Taylor (winner of 4 Golden Fiddles at Tamworth CMF) & Steve's evocative lyrics, melodies & vocals. Guitarist Terry Hogan uses both his Jazz and Rock backgrounds with his lead guitar and sensational harmonica playing and Greg Parrent keeps the rhythm soulful with sweet guitar whilst journey man bassist Stephen Melican and talented young drummer Matt Parrent keep it all in a line for us.
The brilliant Marcy, classically trained in The Czech Republic, classical star and Tamworth legend in Australia, weaves magic on the violin and mandolin creating excitement and colour in the music. Steve is up front on acoustic guitar and vocals

The band has been described as being rootsy, bluesy, alt-country, rockn'roll, soulful ... well I guess it all depends on the listener. Influenced by Dylan, Neil Young, The Stones, The Band, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Howling Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters....Woody Guthrie.....! Something always make you feel you're hearing something new, but familiar at the same time and Little Rain has built up a loyal following with soulful, gutsy and fun live shows that keep people coming back.
