"Little Silver Tabby"

Little Silver Tabby is another outfit out of the Steel city, but unlike some of the more experimental (Dark Mean for example), song writer Cedalou Torma prefers to work from more tried and true song writer influences.

His new EP - Weak Teen Magazine – is a collection of heavy guitar riffs and lyrics that actually mean something. I know that seems like an obvious concept, but for every artist claiming Elliott Smith as a hero, very few people care enough to spend hours penning verses that hit home with an audience or they forget that you need a melody to support your darkest thoughts.

There are moments on the record where Cedalou might sample too liberally from Smith’s back catalog (Empty Son for example), but there’s no doubt jams like Was Yew and Mouse show potential. Once he settles into his own style, I think Little Silver Tabby will deliver a record that will make some noise. - Herohill

Bio

A good song has to be captivating and it all begins with what you want to say.

Beginning as a solo project of Cedalou Torma, if you listen to the workings of Little Silver Tabby's first EP, Weak Teen Magazine(2009), you'll notice a set of songs greatly inspired by performers such as Elliott Smith, George Harrison, The Kinks and Nico, primarily in the manner in which they grab hold onto the listener through melody and lyrical meaning. Upon its first week of release the entirely self produced and recorded Weak Teen Magazine charted in the top 10 on 93.3 CFMU, followed by an encouraging review by Canadian indie music blog, Herohill.

Now expanded into a five piece band, Little Silver Tabby has come into its own sound; immediate and dynamic, centered around the charged yet hushed voice of Cedalou. More is yet to come as this band starts to spread their songs across Canada.
