The textured melodies and Bennie Reilly’s soft, mouse-sized voice make it easy to like the indie-folksters’ debut – and there’s even more that’ll make you love it. They can do pastoral just as well as The Earlies, with harmonies like wind instruments played by friendly ghosts (‘(She’ll Use You) Lou’). However, they can carry off the harder stuff equally well – check out the sludgy guitar of ‘Sleepwalking’. This EP feels like watching an autumn day from inside, and the songs are just long enough for you to lie back in them. - Hotpress – Tim Smyth
..this new unit take indie-folk as a base for sweet, cute and deceptively hard-hitting songs. Think Rilo Kiley with very vicious knobs on. - The Ticket | Tony Clayton-Lea
The debut five track mini album from this new Irish based outfit…features some really lovely downbeat country tinged folk sounds with comparisons to the likes of Mazzy Star meets Cat Power or even Neko Case, the opening two tracks are two of the most beautiful alt country tracks sounding like a more laid back cowboy junkies with the almost whispered vocal delivery of Hope Sandoval, really lovely stuff well worthy of your attention, the album features (she’ll use you) lou, the rubble of love, confident you, sleepwalking and little boat rowing - Road Records shop & website
The Irish music scene is highly impressive at the moment, current loves of mine little xs for eyes…make beautiful pop sounds! - Today FM Blog
little xs for eyes … If there was any sun this summer, the music that they make would be a good accompaniment to it. It's airy, harmony-laden, ethereal, sweet, relaxing, and quality of course. - UnaRocks Blog
the band play some deliciously harmonious music that will have you floating off into the sky with a blissful smile etched to your mug..
they've all kind of cool instruments, including a glockenspiel, ukelele, and double bass... but don't be scared.. they're not some weird growling folk band.. its pretty straight up stuff... but its done very very well..
for an indication of what they sound like i'd say think reindeer section doing carpenters covers... well its close enough..

Bio
The songwriting heart of little xs for eyes, the couple Bennie Reilly and Davey Moor, began composing together after being jilted by their previous musical lovers, assembling a group of musician friends from the Dublin music scene. Their critically acclaimed, eponymous début EP features heavily layered harmonies, and instruments such as ukulele, electric mandolin and glockenspiel to augment the regular drums, bass, guitar and keys set-up. Davey and Bennie are back in Dublin having lived in London for the last year working on new material.
