Bio

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is known more for breeding race horses than grooming the next band of talented modern rock sensations. But that’s about to change. Hailing from the Bluegrass State, along the western foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, meet Live Fish. This engaging foursome is feverishly making their case as one of the next spirited musical ensembles you will have to have on your favorites playlist.

Dustin Fenison (guitars, vocals), Vince Frantz (bass, vocals), Patrick Ford (drums, vocals), and Emily Lane (keys, synths) make up this mix-gendered group of modern alt rockers, but don’t mistake them for another guitar driven pop/rock worship band. Live Fish reaches to a respectful combination of the introspection of Jon Foreman, the sensibilities of The Fray, the raw passion of John Mark McMillan, and the aggressive leanings of Thrice and The Foo Fighters to reach the listener where they entrench.

The band almost obsessively maintains an honest accessibility in their music that gives them a refreshing take on their genre. They try very hard to bring their unique personalities to the table and lay it all out for fans to experience. Quirky, endearing, or the peculiarity that can appreciate the company of a gnome, these guys (and gal) try not to take themselves too seriously, but at the same time they understand that they are working towards a kingdom that is way bigger than them, and make no mistake, they take their mission seriously.

Through their partnership with Compassion International, the band champions the cause of the “least of these, advocating on behalf of children around the globe who live in extreme poverty. Live Fish is dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus with each who come across their music, and encouraging their listeners to take action and reach out to the broken world around them who desperately need a Savior.

Included in Live Fish’s discography are an EP entitled “It’s About Time and a full length studio project produced by Mark Drury (David Crowder Band, Taylor Hicks) called “For All We Hope. The projects’ success is highlighted by critical praise, significant radio play, and superb sales. With that kind of momentum built, the band is very excited to embrace 2009 as a banner year. The year will mark their most extensive nationwide touring schedule; bringing their electrifying live show to a stage near you along with such acts as Switchfoot, Kutless, the Newsboys, Brandon Heath, and countless other national artists. Most excitingly 2009 will bring two new releases from the band. In the late spring they will release a collection of off the wall classic and original children’s songs that are guaranteed to have you dancing in your gas-guzzling SUV or minivan. Not to be outdone, in early winter the band plans to release a live concert CD/DVD that has already got them chattering with glee at the prospects. Finally, the band is staying busy in between road trips writing songs and cutting demos for what will be the band’s second full length studio project.

Prepare for a band that is sure of themselves and the God they love. To find out all the latest, please visit the band at www.livefishband.com, Myspace, Reverb Nation, and Facebook.
