D.E.E.P.'s ingenious blend of jazz and poetry may be the closest you will get. This California native has soul branded into her skin which oozes out through her captivating performance and brilliant words.
D.E.E.P. has established herself as a nationally-known author and poet. She is currently ranked the #2 female poet in the world (WoWips) and the #1 slam poet in the Houston area. She was a member of the 2004 Collegiate Poetry Slam Team for the University of Michigan, a member of the 2007 National Houston Poetry Slam Team, the 2008 H-town Slam team, and she now coaches the 2009 Houston VIP slam Team.
She has been featured as opening acts for such artists as John Legend, Slum Village, Def Poet Sunni Patterson. Reggie Gibson, and many more.
As a singer, she been able to embrace the road as a touring member of the nationally-known Michigan Gospel Chorale. Her debut album will combine her love for music with her powerful wordplay and serve as a fresh revelation for all those with an open ear to listen.
