Live Wyya spells, Positive Energy!

The Live Wyya Band is tremendously popular within their native Jamaica, and is also one of reggae music's most selective international bands of emissaries. Their songs boast a varied list of music that spells determination and an extreme source of self-development. Their songs have granted them the ability to culturally promote passion and emotion as popularity all over the world. Live Wyya is a Roots Rock Reggae group of high inspiration, whose aims and objectives is to teach and educate the populace through their music.

The group was founded and formed in December of 1999 by Carl "C-Wyya" Edwards (bass guitarist) and Arnaldo "NaldoT" Bolt (drummer). The additional group members are listed as: lead guitarist, Michael Downer, lead vocalist, Katt I and on keyboards, Tristan Richards and Oneil Gayle.

Despite the groups popularity and the constant economics of the reggae music industries, Live Wyya outstanding ability to produce quality works and lists of accomplishment have allowed them to emerge as Jamaicas number one band. Live Wyya achievement is incomparable to their peers and is the driving force of the exceptional works they have been able to produce. Their current performance lists of musical works include an exceptional, phenomenal catalogue.

In September of 2000, Live Wyya emerged as the Backing Band for the renowned Legends in Action music event in Jamaica, which featured Katt, Carl Dawkins, Ken Boothe, and Leroy Sibbles. Being able to back a few of the traditional legends of "roots reggae" was a success for the group who went on to perform lists of live performance backings for others, ranging and including other forms of reggae genre, such as lover's rock, dub, and dancehall. The Live Wyya band was able to perform on the reggae circuit in the fall of 2000, as the backing band for established working entertainers that emerged within the varied reggae genre. The Artists and events lists, consists of Red Dut Showcase, Dave's Car was Tollgate Clarendon and the New Year� Eve concert at the Parkway Club in Ocho Rios, with the Live Wyya group backing musicians, such as; Pinchers, General Degree and Yasus Afari, Glen Washington, Prezident Brown, Anthony Cruz, Sugar Roy, Michael Rustle, Nigga Mickey, Ras Shilo and George Nooks respectively.

The Year 2001 proved to be more eventful as Live Wyya was able to perform at one of the summer biggest reggae musical events in Jamaica - Reggae Sumfest while backing Mackie Conscious. During that same year Live Wyya was able to produce more dub conscious live events on the Jamaican circuit through appearances of events like, Pepsi Anniversary, Global Beat Live on RJR & Reggae Sun TV, annual Bob Marley Trench Town Birthday Bash, CVM TV, TVJ Morning time, and their Smile Jamaica Christmas Party.

As vivid as the comparison of the technological innovative driving force of today reggae music that are being currently produced, Live Wyya seemingly gained excessive growth and grounds on a list of established events, in 2002. The group musical career embarked on various, major lists of events as regulars on the circuit such as, the JCDC Festival, Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica Independence celebration concert in New Kingston, Buffalo Karibbana Festival, Dancehall Rock Reggae, Coliseum San Fernando and East Fest.

Towards the latter half of 2002, the reggae inspired event - Sting, notably described as, the greatest one night reggae show, brought Live Wyya unscripted live performance as a backing band to the forefront. The group established themselves as the backing band for major acts for the artistes of the Sting event, with a list that presented themselves of varied musicians, such as, Danny English & Egg Nog, Vybez Cartel, Determine, Richie Spice, Kip Rich, Assassin, Anthony Cruz, Spice and Wayne Marshal.

Fans of the Live Wyya group have grown to love and appreciate the music over the years and their musical artistry has been supported by some of the legends and most cohesive musicians and entertainers within the industry.

Following their auspicious eponymous debut, the group efforts, allowed them to further emerge as the number one backing band, as the winner of the Irie FM Big Break Competition and maintained the Award for the Best Backing Band in 2002 and 2003 by the Jamaican Music Federation.

In May 2004, the Live Wyya group won the Jamaican leg of the Battle of the Bands and was later placed eight in London at the finals. In Jamaica, they were awarded the Surrey Local Award for the Best New Show Band and Best Backing Band. The same year Live Wyya was able to secure Management through Comar Productions, by the prestigious, Copeland Forbes, who has been dubbed as Reggae most outstanding Music Manager.
