"LIXX Ready For Battle"

Like a contemporary musical version of Mad Max, Lixx are blue collar heros, road warriors, battling adversity in the many post apocalyptical nightspots of a scarred and damaged Detroit. And yet they are coming out on top. They're transforming desperation into glorious depravity. they're taking the average Michiganders hunger for work and redirecting it into hunger for quality Rock-n-Roll. They know that, when a city is suffering, great art will fight it's way out of the rubble. and they aim to spearhead the attack. They are Lixx, and they are ready for battle. "

Bio

Like a contemporary musical version of Mad Max, the hard-hitting rock band, Lixx, are the much needed emblematic blue-collar heroes; battling adversity in the many post-apocalyptical nightspots of a scarred and damaged Detroit. In the midst of a city in need of some enlightenment besides a Robocop statue parked outside of Michigan Central Station, Lixx is transforming desperation into glorious depravity. They are taking the Michigander’s hunger for employment and transmitting it into a desire for quality Rock and Roll.

They know that when a city is suffering, great art will wrestle its way out of the rubble. And they aim to spearhead the attack. They are Lixx, and they are ready for battle. Simply writing them off as just a bar band would be to ignore the tremendous amount of musical ability within the ranks of the Lixx boys. Still, a bar band is what they are and they wear that badge with pride. The bars of Detroit are arguably some of the best places in the world for an unassailable rock-n-roll band to learn their chops and earn their stripes. Having met through mutual friends, Lixx came together in the fall of 2007. The band consists of Bob Dancer (Leather Gypsies, Mars Needs Women) on lead vocals, Tony "TFM" Marocco (The Nasties, Damage, Public Nuisance) on lead guitar, Art Macauley (Shakey Jakes, Universal Temple of Divine Power) on bass, and Tom Holiday (Key lime) on drums and vocals, are veterans of the Detroit music scene, playing in various bands since the 1980's.

Lixx describes themselves as a "High energy rock-n-roll band putting our twist on classic rock and soul music, and we have our own tunes too.” The covers they do vary from obscure tunes to the very well known, it’s all about the music. The Lixx set list is littered with classic rock and bluesy soul songs from across the decades. From Edwin Starr's "25 Miles from Home", Humble Pie's “30 Days in the Hole", to Gary Wright's "Love is Alive”, the band plays faithful, passionate renditions of undeniable classics. Their own music is damn good too. "Lets Get Naked" has been featured in their set list for a while, wowing many crowds, along with another punkish, greasy-sounding song, “Little Girls”. The guys can deliver music with a passion unparalleled in Detroit. They don't forget their Detroit roots either, with covers of classics from Ted Nugent to Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and more.

Lixx is putting the "Rock" back into Detroit City, one performance at a time.
