"quick quote"

"Tastefully understated, yet positively enchanting." - ARTVOICE

"quick quote"

"Abbott played a major role in the electric atmosphere at Nietzsche's. She sang with passion & from the heart."
- Anthony Violanti - Buffalo News

"quick quote"

"This is not the wispy, folk - based pop songwriting of the current female singer-songwriter set - Abbott is just too delightfully strange to be lumped in with anything so obvious. A deep, true talent."
- Jeff Miers - Buffalo News

"Triple Treat"

" Liz Abbott celebrates the release of her 'Change is in the Air' disc inside Nietzsche's, 248 Allen St. , beginning at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Abbott's 'Change is in the Air' is a remarkable effort, at once intimate and idiosyncratic, broadly emotional and universal. Consisting - save one unlisted techno bonus track, an interpretation of John Lennon's sublime 'No. 9 Dream' - solely of Abbott's acoustic guitar playing and etheral singing, the record offers surprises at every turn, be they in the poetic imagination evinced in the cliche-free lyrics or in the astute organic melodic and harmonic nuances of Abbott's guitar playing.
This is not the wispy, folk-based pop songwriting of the current female singer-songwriter set - Abbott is just too delightfully strange to be lumped in with anything so obvious. Her main influence, one guesses, is Joni Mitchell, another incredibly underrated, eclectic guitarist with a penchant for the exploration of oft-ignored estuaries of modern song. Abbott is, beyond question, in possession of a deep, true talent that she gives of freely and, based on the understated beauty of these songs, humbly.
Abbott's band includes bassist Kent Weber - a versatile musician capable of handling everything from hard rock to pop to noir jazz - drummer Gary Bernstein and guest David Celia on guitar. "
- Jeff Miers - Buffalo News

"quick quote"

" Clearly has a sound all her own... sinuous voice, sophisticated lyrics. "
- Jim Catalano - Ithaca Journal

Then I released a studio recording when my arm was in a caste & I was happy I'd recorded earlier that year! And there R several other CD's that I've done harmonies on that I'm thrilled to be a part of. Got some new material & am actively envisioning / manifesting my next recording project. Bio

Welcome to Liz Abbott's Sonicbids EPK and thanx for stopping by!

Liz has played Folk City in NYC, The Idler in Boston, Hugh's Room in Toronto, The Tralf in Buffalo, subways & street corners, & "once on a boat on the Hudson River! I like boats but... well let's just chalk that 1 up to adventure!! :) Now after some woodshedding, & continued activism in the Movement to restore our eroding Civil Liberties, it's time to venture back out with the new tunes. I invite you to listen to the tracks on the audio page & check out the press page to get a feel for what I do. If it speaks to you, great! I'm also adding a world beat song I sang on w/ African artist Alassane Sarr, just to mix it up a bit! Enjoy!
A couple of these submission opportunities jumped out at me so here goes; I hope to hear from you promoters out there! I look forward to getting out to your venue & being part of your event."
