Lizanne Knott has a vocal delivery that makes you turn around. She is talking to you. Her voice is conversational and intimate. When she comes through with her laundry list of what coulda been on ‘Why Baby Why’, the result for the listener is “what could I have done better”. When she opens ‘Sunday’ with the words “hey baby”, you are listening over the phone with hushed breathes, allowing her promises to wash over, sink in and light the future. Her minute by minute overviews on ‘Wonderful Day’ are streaming directly from one’s own thoughts. The loop is complete and connection is made. The personal tone and texture of Lizanne’s voice takes hold on each track of ‘South of Graceland’, her third including her self-titled debut (2003)‘ and ‘Under the Burning Sky’ (2006). Musically, the album relies on the purity of an acoustic performance mixing blues, folk/rock and jazz chord patterns and rhythms with those soul touching vocals and harmony convergences.
Lizanne has made her mark both musically and in actively expanding on the presence of independent artists. She is the Philadelphia host of the New York Songwriter’s Circle on World Cafe Live as well as managing partner of MorningStar Studios. Her travels take in both the U.S. shores and the U.K., where her presence has gone beyond venues and found her a repeat visitor on the Bob Harris show, BBC2 and other BBC stations.

A long standing member of the Philadelphia music scene and managing partner of Grammy Award Winning MorningStar Studios, Lizanne Knott has been captivating audiences throughout the US and garnering accolades from radio listeners and peers around the globe. She has performed at some of the most prestigious listening venues in the US and throughout England, steadily gaining ground wherever the road takes her. A frequent featured artist on London's acclaimed Bob Harris Show, BBC2 and other BBC stations, she also receives airplay on AAA radio throughout the US. Her music has been used in independent films, TV movies, documentaries and by national non-profit organizations.
Her 5th CD to date, "Standing in the English Rain" is being released dec in the states, Feb 9th 2013 in the UK with worldwide distribution. The project includes guest appearances by legendary drummer Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Indigo Girls), Janis Ian, Melody Gardot among others.
