Ever since I can remember I have always had a fascination with music. I began performing at age three and my love for music just grew from there. I have five brothers and sisters and music was huge a part of our lives. My free spirited hippie parents made sure everyone knew how to play some sort of instrument, soon there wasn't a venue that we didn't perform at. We played everywhere from street corners to five star hotels, orphages, charity events, clubs, and my favorite church. I can definitely say alot of my musical training as a young child was in church. At age eleven I began performing on a christian TV show called Stand Up for Jesus on KTLJ, a christian channel in Houston, Tx. Around this time I also began writing songs and listening to contemporary artists like Jewel, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston, then as the world of secular music opened up to me I began to listen to classic jazz artists like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Frank Sintra, Anita Baker to name a few songerwriters like John Lennon,Bob Dylan , and Stevie Nicks inspired and influenced me as a songwriter. As I got older I turned to the latest club or dance hit when wanted to party or I would crank up that Tool record as loud as I could when I needed that solace only rock could provide for me but I would never forget those classic records like Pink Floyd's The Wall or my favorite Beatles" songs. Hip-hop also became a mainstay in my life as well,Nas, Talib Kweli and Tupac were among some of my favorites.When Troy and I began working together about a year ago, we had one goal in mind:create unforgettable records with the only rule being that there are no boundries or restrictions.....fuse the past to create the future.
