Bio

If it’s true that singer songwriters are not taught, they are born—then 16 year old Lizzie Edwards is singer/songwriter proof of that fact. A budding “novelist” from an early age, Lizzie has been putting her thoughts about life, love and other topics in a notebook from the moment she could write.
Music for this Alpharetta, Georgia native came a bit later. When she was 13, her parents put her in piano lessons. While she wasn’t a big fan of playing the classical songs her teacher had her learn, she did love playing around on the piano on her own. And then, the realization came one summer that she could combine her love of writing and her love of music—and a singer/songwriter was born. Her first song, “Fall,” was born shortly after, a song that she still plays live.
Just three short years later, Lizzie recently completed her first EP of four original songs, cutting with a full band. The experience was both exciting and a little scary, but she quickly learned when to stand up for her ideas and when to listen to other ideas from the players on her EP.
Lizzie describes her new EP as beachy, upbeat acoustic pop, drawing from her love of Colbie Caillat and all things John Mayer. It’s a project she is very proud of, with songs she is already performing live on stages around Atlanta.
Having performed live for the first time in July of 2011 at Ragamuffin Music Hall in Roswell, this young artist has already grown comfortable on stage. Her smooth vocal delivery and sophisticated song structures transcend her age. Trembling and fear have been replaced with a love of performing and of playing her songs for anyone who will listen. Lizzie hopes to continue to grow as a writer and artist, and looks forward to sharing her songs with larger audiences both on stage and through iTunes, Facebook and YouTube.
