.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Liquid Motor Commission (LMC) was formed in the suburbs of Detroit in the fall of 2004. Influenced heavily by Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Cult and other guitar-driven rock bands, LMC has come to follow in their footsteps in both songwriting and live shows. This modern rock sound includes the soulful vocals of Anne Raona, the driving backbeat of Jimmy Irimescu, the bass grooves of Gary Suess and the Les Paul/Marshall guitar sound of David Hopkins - all veterans of the Detroit scene. LMC delivers tunes such as "Thought Process" & "Nothing in Return" with an energy that is matched by few bands. In an age of rap/rock, boy band punk and guitars detuned 8 octaves; Liquid Motor Commission has arrived with its modern rock sound. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was a couple of tracks into the Liquid Motor Commission’s EP when I realized these guys (and gal) have gotta be from Detroit. And ‘lo and behold, it’s true. The band has that unmistakable sound, ballsy blues rock slightly mollified by Anne Raona’s lead vocals. While they chiefly carry a modern-rock, guitar-driven sound, old-school metal influences (Led Zep, early Aerosmith) are clearly evident. There’s a lot of energy on the album, and if this debut is any indication, Liquid Motor Commission has a healthy case of Motor City madness and is likely to tear the house down playing live.
